Why we gather
Many men learn early how to keep moving, handle things on their own, and set aside what they feel. Those strategies can help us get through a lot—but over time, they can also leave us disconnected from ourselves and from the people who matter most.
Into the Light creates space to slow down, look honestly at what we’ve learned to carry, and decide what we want to do differently.

Is this for you?

Feeling Disconnected
For men who want a stronger connection with themselves and the people in their lives.

Carrying Too Much Alone
For men who are used to pushing through, keeping things contained, or handling everything themselves.

Ready for Something Different
For men willing to look honestly at old roles, expectations, and patterns—and consider what they want to carry forward.
What to Expect
01
Unlearning
We begin by noticing what we have learned to carry—the roles, expectations, defenses, and masks that may once have helped us but no longer fit. This is about looking honestly at our patterns without judgment or shame.
02
Rebuilding
Awareness creates the opportunity to practice something different. We begin rebuilding connection with ourselves and others through emotional awareness, honesty, vulnerability, boundaries, and the willingness to ask for support.
03
Becoming
Becoming isn’t about leaving as a different person or having everything figured out. It’s about deciding what you want to carry forward—and becoming more intentional about how you show up as a man, partner, father, friend, and person.

Departure
Into the Light takes place at Kamp Kaleo near Burwell, Nebraska. Set among woods, open land, and the North Loup River, Kaleo gives us space to step away from everyday demands and settle into the work of the weekend.
Lodging is rustic and shared, with participants staying in camp cabins that accommodate up to 10 people. Bathroom and shower facilities are located in nearby shared camp facilities. Participants should bring their own bedding or sleeping bag, pillow, towels, toiletries, and personal items.
While Kamp Kaleo has a religious affiliation, Into the Light is not a faith-based retreat. Men of all faith backgrounds, as well as those with no religious affiliation, are welcome.

Who’s Behind the Retreat
Into the Light is hosted by Orenda Awakening LLC in partnership with the Men’s Connection Collective.
The Men’s Connection Collective is a community of men committed to honest conversation, meaningful connection, and creating spaces where men can show up without having to perform, fix, or have everything figured out.
The retreat is facilitated by Cody Perrien, LIMHP, LMFT, with support from members of the Men’s Connection Collective.
